Comments

Brushturkey adults do not brood but leave incubation to mounds of rotting vegetation, volcanic ash or hot sand. The young have to dig their way out of the nest mounds after hatching, but they emerge from the eggs fully feathered and as soon as they leave the mound, they areable to fly for long distances.
